New COVID care centre to be set up in Indore's Radha Soami Satsang Beas Campus

Alerted by the accelerated spread of COVID infections in the city, Indore district authorities are implementing measures to increase healthcare facilities for the affected individuals. As per the latest reports, the administration has announced that a COVID-19 care centre shall be set up in Radha Soami Satsang Beas ground on Khandwa Road. Planned to be used as a quarantine facility for asymptomatic patients, the centre will be equipped will all basic necessities.

500 beds to be set up across 10 blocks in the first phase

As per reports, the campus shall house nearly 500 beds in the first phase while the count will be scaled up to 1,000 in the second phase. Further, if an additional requirement is observed, 2,000 beds can be accommodated in total. Reportedly, the nodal officer affirmed that all the medicines and meals will be available free of cost for the beneficiaries in this centre.

According to the current plans, the area will be divided into 10 blocks, each consisting of 50 beds. Each of these divisions shall have a doctor, nurse and other medical staff members. Given the uncertain circumstances, the officials have deployed extensive efforts to make sure that the facility is ready for operations as soon as possible.

On Sunday, the Indore administration announced a five-day-long curfew in the entire district and the period of lockdown has been stretched to April 19 now.

Maintaining its position as the most affected city in Madhya Pradesh, Indore registered a spike of 1,552 new COVID patients on Tuesday, the largest count for 2021. With these additions, the city's tally of active patients has surged up to 8,384 while the cumulative count of COVID-affected individuals stood at 80,986 on Tuesday. Observing the precarious situation across the country, citizens in Indore need to practice restraint and follow all guidelines related to COVID-19.
