Western Railways to flag off 7 pairs of trains from Indore, easing connectivity & commute

As per reports, other trains will soon be inducted into the fleet of operating rails soon.

In wake of the sloping graph of the coronavirus infection, the Western Railways has decided to soon unlock the operations of about 7 pairs (14 services) of trains to and fro Indore and the neighbouring Dr. Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow) stations. As per reports, other trains too, will be inducted later into the functional fleet of the railways soon. Until now, railway services were running as a 'special' force, where travel was permitted only by the authority of a confirmed reservation.

Amid the widespread scale of the pandemic horror, the railways had ordained a shutdown of many of its services. While a few trains were operating for essential commute, the travel protocols and restrictions generated a diminished ridership. However, with ebbing COVID scope, the Western Railways has decided to revive 14 trains, up and down from Indore.

These trains will resume the provision of easy commute from Indore and Mhow stations to Delhi, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Daund, Udhampur, Yeshwantpur and Kochuveli, the Public Relations official informed.

The schedule is as follows:

-Train No. 02944 Indore-Daund Special Express will run from Indore on June 28, on all days except Wednesdays

-Train No. 02943 Daund-Indore Special Express will operate from Daund, June 29 onwards, on all days except Thursdays

-Train No. 09241 Indore-Udhampur Special Express will run from Indore, July 5 onwards

-Train No. 09307 Indore-Chandigarh Special Express will leave from Indore from July 1

-Train No. 09308 Chandigarh-Indore Special Express will leave for Indore from Chandigarh, July 2 onwards

-Train No. 09325 Indore-Amritsar Special Express will run from Indore on Tuesdays and Fridays, from June 29

-Train No. 09326 Amritsar-Indore Special Express will operate from Amritsar, on Thursdays and Sundays, from July 1

-Train No. 09332 Indore-Kochuveli Special Express will run from Indore, from June 29

-Train No. 09331 Kochuveli-Indore Special Express will run from Kochuveli from July 2

-Train No. 09337 Indore-Delhi Sarai Rohilla Special Express will run from Indore, June 27 onwards

-Train No. 09338 Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Indore Special Express will depart from Delhi, from June 28

-Train No. 09242 Udhampur-Indore Special Express will run from Udhampur from 7th July

-Train No. 09301 Dr. Ambedkar Nagar-Yesvantpur Special Express will run from Dr. Ambedkar Nagar Station from June 27

-Train No. 09302 Yesvantpur-Dr. Ambedkar Nagar Special Express will run from Yesvantpur on Tuesday from June 29

Indore COVID update

On Tuesday, only 15 fresh cases were logged in Indore, suggesting that the district has crossed over the second wave peak. The dipping graph of new infections and a steady, outpaced recovery are now helping the administration control the tally of active cases. Reportedly, around 53 patients were cured of the coronavirus in the last 24 hours while only a single death was added to the fatality toll. As of now, the district is dealing with a share of 344 active cases.
