Knocksense Shorts | Concerns about rain loom over the upcoming India-Australia match in Indore
Preparations are in full swing for the upcoming India vs. Australia second ODI on September 24th in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. However, concerns have arisen due to a weather alert predicting heavy rain from the MP Meteorological Department. The ODI match is slated to begin at 1:30 pm, and active preparations are underway for both the ground and the pitch.
This event marks the 7th International ODI to be hosted at Holkar Stadium. The Meteorological Department has forecasted light rain on the match day, which the pitch curators are taking into account in their preparations. A minimum of three consecutive days of strong sunlight is essential for proper field preparation. There is increased scrutiny regarding pitch quality, notably due to previous issues during a Test match held at the same stadium earlier this year, resulting in a negative assessment of Holkar Stadium.
Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) officials are in the final stages of arranging the match, including expanding dressing rooms to accommodate 35 individuals for player comfort. A separate room has been designated for the broadcasting team's use. Also, to prevent the recurrence of previous issues, close monitoring of pitch conditions is planned.
