Knocksense Shorts | Indian Railways to soon install Video Surveillance System at Indore junction

Under the national mission to install Video Surveillance System (VSS), 9 railway stations in the Ratlam division have already been picked out, and work is on in full swing. These 9 railway station include Indore, Devas, Ratlam, Dr. Ambedkar Nagar and Ujjain, naming just a few.

A total of 756 railway stations in India will be equipped with AI-enabled advanced Video Surveillance systems. To monitor footage around the clock, A dedicated control centre will be set up.

Features of the advanced VSS:

• Video feed will be displayed at local, zonal and divisional level RPF posts.

• Video feed will be stored on device memory for 30 days, during which it can be downloaded to external storage disks.

• AI enabled analytic system for advance surveillance

• Night vision

• Criminal data enabled video surveillance system for identifying known threats.

• Accident alert

The VSS system will work as a tool to alert concerned departments and railway police of any emergency situations at railway stations. They will be notified as soon as the alarm is raised by the VSS via software.
