Maintaining a praise-worthy streak, Indore bags the 'cleanest city' tag for the 7th time!
Results of the much-awaited Swachh Survekshan 2023 have been declared. And keeping up with an impressive streak and a strong flex for the seventh time in a row, Indore has achieved the 'cleanest city' title yet again.
Two cities, namely Indore and Surat, were adjudged the 'cleanest cities' of India at the award ceremony that took place in New Delhi. Apart from this, Indore also got a 7-star rating, under Garbage Free City Protocol, and the water+ tag for the second time. While Indore was the only one to receive the 7-star rating last year, this year, Surat and Navi Mumbai have followed in its footsteps and have achieved the high rating.
Indore emerges as the frontrunner at Swachh Survekshan 2023
The achievement is as a result of innumerable efforts by Indore authorities and residents, some of which include public's garbage segregation practises and higher sense of responsibility undertaken by all, civil improvements, continuous cleanliness campaigns, running of regular door-to-door garbage collection vehicles and efforts by safai mitras.
"Congratulations to both Indore and Surat for clinching the top spot as India's Cleanest Cities. Your unwavering commitment to swachhata is simply outstanding. Keep dazzling and setting the bar high," Swachh Bharat Urban took to X to share.
