Madhya Pradesh is home to many elegant tourist destinations and people from all over the world visit the state to witness its traditional and cultural marvels. However, on the flip side, a lot of tourists face trouble while travelling here. With an aim to address such grievances, the state government, in collaboration with NHAI, has taken the first step by improving road and travel infrastructure in the state.

Planned ropeways to offer smooth travel experience in Madhya Pradesh

In collaboration with Madhya Pradesh Public Work Department (PWD), NHAI will set up 14 ropeways across the state. These ropeways will help with crowd control in major tourist spots in Madhya Pradesh, offering a smooth and pleasant travel experience to the tourists.

Reportedly, these ropeways will be installed in Ujjain between the railway station and Shri Mahakaal Mandir, Rajaram Mandir in Orchha, between Gwalior fort and Phoolbagh, Govindpura and Kolar road in Bhopal, between Mandu entrance gate and Rupmati Palace, Siddhkut Jain Mandir and Rajeshwar Ashram, Sneh Fall and Ken river bank in Khajuraho, Raisen parking and Raisen fort, Shiv Mandir parking and Chouragarh Shiv Mandir in Pachmarhi, Tamia in Chhindwara and from Doodh Dhara to Kapil Dhara in Amarkantak.

As per officials, the construction of a ropeway in Ujjain will be taken up on priority, since the influx of travelers is highest in the city due to pilgrimage tourism.

Further, other ropeways projects will also be taken up, however, the timeline for the remaining ropeways has not been revealed by the authorities just yet.
