Traffic duty as redemption! Indore issues unconventional sentence for offenders

In an innovative approach to community service, four individuals in Indore, have been ordered to manage traffic at a local square for one year as a punishment for their criminal activities. The accused- Dharmendra, Nikhil, Dipanshu and Jitendra were initially booked for threatening residents and damaging vehicles in Vrindavan colony.

Following a hearing, the Commissioner of Police issued an order under the MP State Security Act 1990, requiring the four to perform traffic management duties at Lavkush Square every Saturday from 6 PM to 9 PM. The punishment also prohibits alcohol consumption during this period. Local police have been instructed to monitor compliance with these restrictions.

This unconventional sentence aims to reform the offenders while serving the community. The approach has drawn attention for its blend of punishment and public service, potentially setting a precedent for creative sentencing in minor offenses.
