Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) made this announcement in a meeting, wherein changes in the plan of implementation of the project were also announced.

The Metro Network will strengthen the transport system of the city

The metro network will cover an area of 124 kilometres and will provide a boost to the transportation system of the city. The project was announced back in the year 2013 and the construction started back in August 2021. As per the previous plan, a total of 29 stations were planned on the route with 6 stations to be built underground.

What are the changes in the plan of implementation?

Recently, MPMRCL announced that 4 out of 6 proposed underground stations will be built above the ground in light of certain technical difficulties on the route. The only two stations which will be built underground on the corridor will include the Airport and the BSF stations.

Although the trial run of the metro train has been scheduled for the next year, the authorities have stated that the completion of the project will require additional time.
