In order to add to the existing big cat family of the zoo, the authorities are now making efforts to help Cheenu- the white tiger mate with the golden tigress- Rani. Both of these tigers were brought from Odisha's Nandankanan Zoo in March, last year. Though the plan was to get a white tigress for Cheenu and a golden tiger for Rani earlier, the mating between the two was given a green signal to avoid any further delay. The increase in the number of tigers will eventually help in boosting tourism in the state.
