Rajasthan government launches 24-hour COVID-19 helpline in Jaipur & all other districts
In wake of the swelling rise of coronavirus infection across Rajasthan, the state government on Sunday launched round the clock helpdesks and helpline numbers to resolve emergency and distress across Jaipur and other districts. The helpline numbers, 2225624 and 2225000 will fall under the supervision of Director RCH Dr. Laxman Singh Ola and people can avail of these services anytime to register complaints. COVID inquiries and other queries will also be addressed here.
250 MT Oxygen required in Rajasthan

Meanwhile, the Cabinet Minister of Health and Family Welfare also highlighted the state's oxygen requirement, given the current surge in the COVID active caseload. In a statement, the official highlighted that there is no shortage of beds, however, the Centre must provide oxygen supplies to support them.
The liquid medicine oxygen (LMO) requirement has been marked at 250 MT and Rajasthan has received about 140 MT until now, the authorities reportedly state. This LMO is required to sustain the 14,389 oxygen and 4,477 ICU beds available here.

On Sunday, the Rajasthan Chief Minister announced that the state will offer free vaccination for people between 18 to 45 years of age. As permitted by the Centre, Rajasthan will also begin the next phase of COVID inoculation, for adults, from May 1. "Rajasthan govt has decided to vaccinate its young population of over 18 years free of cost. The state will bear the expense of Rs 3000 crore on this drive,", the CM said in a tweet.
Current COVID status
Rajasthan logged in about 15,809 new infections on Sunday, where state capital Jaipur added the maximum number of cases with 3,145 detections. As per officials, the positivity rate is 6.08% while the recovery ratio stands at 73.69%. A total of 6,649 recoveries were reported at the state level in the last 24 hours. Jaipur recorded around 648 recoveries in the same period, revealed stats.
Jaipur is actively nursing the highest share of cases in the state with 27,482 patients. The city also witnessed 13 deaths on Sunday, pushing the toll to 627 at a 0.70% fatality ratio.
