Extending the term of the night curfew in Rajasthan beyond December 31, a state order has reinforced the restrictive curfew protocol in 13 districts till January 15.

These include Kota, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur, Ajmer, Alwar, Bhilwara, Nagore, Pali, Tonk, Sikar and Ganganagar. The order authorises that all restaurants, commercial complexes, markets and workplaces in these districts have to shut down at 7 PM so that staff and employees can reach home before the curfew hours.

However, these time-bound restrictions are not applicable to essential businesses and factories having a night shift. IT companies, marriage related gatherings, workplaces related to medical services and other emergency services, movement of passengers coming or going to bus stand, railway station and airport and goods carrier vehicles have also been exempted.

To remain under lockdown

The new circular also stated that all schools, colleges and other educational institutes will remain under lockdown for students till January 15. Cinema halls, multiplexes and other such centres which may emerge as probable hotspots of coronavirus infection will also remain shut.

As per reports, Rajasthan's case tally shot up by 502 new infections on Sunday, pushing the count of total confirmed cases beyond the 3,09,821 mark. Recorded data has revealed that state capital Jaipur has been the largest contributor to these numbers, reporting 81 coronavirus cases yesterday. The district's aggregate tally now stands at 57,501 cases.
