Rajasthan logs better scores in the centre's Performance Grading Index for school education

Marking a considerable improvement in its school education set up, Rajasthan scored better in the Performance Grading Index 2019-20, conducted by the central government. Achieving Gradel+ or level 3 in the national assessment of school education, the state outshone itself, as compared to the last year. As per reports, PGI analyses the status and quality of school education amongst different states of the country and awards suited grades, based on the present situation.

Reportedly, the state's scores have jumped from the range of 751-800, registered in the past two years to 851-900, currently. Judging the state's educational infrastructure across an extensive array of 70 specifications, the index and its underlying examination help the states in identifying the areas of lag. Thereby, the state authorities are equipped to initiate better interventions, which can accelerate progress in the field of education.

Released for the first time in 2019, the index analysed the parameters for 2017. Reports state that it puts forward comprehensive insights for the states and facilitates them to aim for better learning outcomes. Reportedly, Outcomes and Governance and Management were the two main categories this year. As per reports, Rajasthan has accomplished this success by converging the attention on improved accessibility and ameliorated educational setup.

PGI for this year to be affected by the ongoing pandemic

It has been more than a year now, that the schools remain closed and all classes are being conducted virtually.
