Rajasthan's Ravi Bishnoi earns a spot in the Indian cricket team for upcoming West Indies series!

Bringing in yet another reason for cheer in the state, Rajasthan's Ravi Bishnoi is all set to represent India in the upcoming international white-ball series. After proving his mettle in the 2020 Under-29 World Cup, the 21-year old bowler grabbed the limelight in the last two editions of the Indian Premier League with his exceptional bowling skills. As per the announcement made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Bishnoi has been selected in the Indian ODI & T20 I squad against West Indies.

After bagging a place in the senior squad for the first time, the young cricketer received praises from a lot of people including the Chief Minister of his home state. Ashok Gehlot congratulated Bishnoi on Twitter, "Congratulations to Jodhpur, #Rajasthan's #RaviBishnoi for his selection in India's One Day International & Twenty20 International squads for series against West Indies. My best wishes to him."

The Member of Parliament from Jodhpur, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also congratulated the 21-year-old leg-spinner for his maiden India call-up with a tweet that said, "Congrats to Sri Ravi Bishnoi ji, a young leg spinner from Birami village in Jodhpur, for being selected in the Indian cricket team! It is the result of your talent and your family's encouragement."

A young talented player, Ravi Bishnoi comes from a humble background from Jodhpur. Son of a school teacher, Bishnoi has come a long way from playing on the rough land in the village to making it to the Indian team. Notably, the righthanded bowler was also one of the three players drafted by the Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the mega auction of IPL 2022! The spinner has been snapped in by the debutant team of this year's cash-rich league for a solid ₹4 crore.
