Jaipur Development Authority to organise camps for regularising 150 colonies
After the state government gave its nod to the Shahar Abhiyan 2022-23 (Urban Area Services), the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) is now gearing up to organise camps to regularise 150 colonies. Notably, these camps aim to resolve land-related problems and are likely to kickstart from April's first week. With a record issuing of over 30,000 lease deeds in its periphery, these remarkable camps however faced a setback during the second wave of the pandemic, forcing the civic body to discontinue the service.
JDA gets into action

As of now, the officials have not released any formal notice for starting the camps, however, as soon as the dates and other schedules are made clear, the authorities will take up the work of setting up at least 150 colonies.
The JDA had targeted to issue approximately 3 lakh lease deeds to plot owners living in regularised and unauthorised colonies in its jurisdiction during the initiative in 2021. This constituted to approximately 30% of the overall target as the state government had planned to issue at least 10 lakh lease deeds across the state. As per the estimates, out of the 1,036 approved schemes developed on private land, the JDA is planning to issue atleast 50,396 lease deeds to plot owners.

As per the officials, the authority plans to earn Rs 50 crore revenue after issuing 15,819 lease deeds to owners of houses that are situated in 142 unapproved colonies. There are over 1 lakhs plots that are under these colonies. Apart from this, the JDA has also sought data on 1,361 housing schemes developed by the cooperative societies before regularization. Lease deeds to these plot owners will be issued after examining the data.
