IIT Kanpur withdraws GATE 2023 exam centres in these international cities; issues 2 options
An important update for candidates appearing for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2023)! IIT Kanpur, through a recent notification, has withdrawn prominent exam centres at some international cities due to operational issues. In light of this, here is what you need to know regarding the centers withdrawn and the ones which are added.
International centers withdrawn for the examination
International cities where GATE 2023 Examination will NOT be conducted due to operational issues are Dhaka (Bangladesh), Kathmandu (Nepal), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Male (Maldives), Port Louis (Mauritius), Singapore (Singapore) and Thimphu (Bhutan). Further, in Dubai, examination scheduled for February 5 and February 12 will no longer be conducted.
Candidates registered for examination in these cities can exercise one of the following options:
You can withdraw your GATE 2023 candidature and get the full refund for application fees.
You can select one of the cities available in India. Original registration fees of the candidates will be refunded. However, to write examination in India, students will have to pay per paper fees, which is as follows:
For Indian nationals:
₹850 for SC/ST/PwD and female candidates
₹1700 for all others
For Foreign nationals: ₹1700
(Candidates who wish to avail the 2nd option, must convey so by sending an email at gate@iitk.ac.in by December 5, 2022, with their enrolment ID, name and choice of option)
4 new centres added at Telangana
Apart from the above, four new cities in Telangana have been added to the list of tentative List of Examination Cities/Towns for GATE 2023, namely Adilabad, Kothagudem, Medak and Nalgonda.
