Knocksense Shorts | IIT K scientists create diagnostic kits by processing material in a microwave
A team of scientists at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT K) have created diagnostic kits by processing fruit peels, molasses, and honey in a microwave. This has resulted from extensive research by the IIT-K team on carbon-based nanomaterials.
Elaborating on the innovation, Prof. Santosh K. Mishra (faculty at IIT-K Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering), said that there is an exciting possibility of making even better use of similar carbon-based material in producing 'bio-nano medicine'.
In addition to that, the team is also hopeful that such material can also be used for creating a range of biomedical devices as material for surface coating.
