The Additional Chief Secretary of IT and Electronics said that the government's resolve is in alignment with the 'Startup Policy' of 2017. The latest proposal includes the setting up of IT parks across 200 acres in Saharanpur incorporating 3 acres of land in the PIlkhani Industrial Area. Assuring compliance with the criterion set by STPI, The intended parks would come up with plug-and-play and other needed provisions.

The park plans have been initiated on cost-free land provided by the government in four districts of UP. While the establishment work in Meerut and Agra is nearing completion, it is anticipated that construction of the parks in Varanasi and Gorakhpur would be finished by September this year.

As stated by the ACS further, the transfer of Jawaharlal Nehru Commercial Complex from the Varanasi Development Authority to the IT and Electronics Department is being materialised soon. This would propel the Varanasi project, making it adhere to the approximated timeline. The government is also working out plans to select local Information Technology and startup companies.

Kanpur and Bareilly are going to be the next spots for the inception of the STPI projects. While the land is already available in Kanpur (Panki), it is being obtained from the Indian Turpentine and Rosin Company for the proposed park in Bareilly.
