2 samples from UP test positive for 'Delta Plus' variant!
Amid dropping positivity rate and improving recovery rate, the Uttar Pradesh administration has been alarmed by the detection of the Delta Plus variant in two samples from the state. While 2,57,897 samples have been tested in the state, only 0.04% of these tested positive for COVID, and the recovery rate stands at 98.6% now. Driven by this, the active cases in the territory have come down to 1,947 patients and a large number of them are home quarantined individuals.
Over 52 lakh individuals in the state complete double-dose vaccination

As per the Additional Chief Secretary (Health), Amit Mohan Prasad, more than 10 lakh vaccine jabs were administered in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. While 10,03,425 doses were given yesterday, 2,93,18,619 individuals have been vaccinated with the first dose and 52,10,062 citizens have received both jabs of the vaccine, till now. The ACS further informed that 2 samples from the state were diagnosed with the Delta Plus variant yesterday.
While these samples belonged to older cases, the presence of the new mutant has been recently confirmed recently after proper genome sequencing was conducted. In view of this, the ACS appealed to the people to make sure that COVID appropriate behaviour is strictly followed and assure complete adherence to guidelines and protocols.
From over 38,000 daily infections to 120 new cases on Tuesday

Additional Chief Secretary (Information), Navneet Sehgal mentioned that the state has successfully transitioned from logging over 38,000 infections in a day to 120 detections, yesterday. One of the strongest weapons against the pandemic has been the drives conducted by the Nigrani Samities and surveillance committees in the rural areas of the territory.
Further, the capital city Lucknow witnessed 15 new cases and 13 recoveries on Tuesday. Besides, the city has 167 new cases now and no fatality has been registered in the last two days.
