If you're a history buff, this event will definitely pique your curiosity! Showcasing the history and heritage of India through an extremely exquisite collection of rare coins and currency notes, the Numismatic Society of India in association with the State Museum has organized an intriguing exhibition. Named 'Mudra Mela', the exhibition is taking place at the International Research Institute of Buddhist Studies of Lucknow.

Today is the last day to visit Mudra Mela in Lucknow and the timings for it are 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Pristine showcase of centuries-old coins with a plus of auction stalls

The ongoing Mudra Mela boasts of precious currency displays curated by renowned numismatists of India. Some of these include a stall displaying coins dating back to 101-178 BC from the Kushan Empire of Ancient India. Another stall exhibits a rare collection of coins including two gold coins which were issued during the coronation ceremony of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 1674. Exclusive currency notes dating back to 1917 are also on display at the exhibition.

Furthermore, the exhibition is not just for the history buffs but it also consists of auction stalls, through which the collectors can get their hands on some rare collectables, paintings and photographs from Rajasthani and Pahadi culture. Interesting, right?
