All about RTE
Under The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, students coming from financially weak strata are given the opportunity to study without any fees till class 8 in private schools. Herein, the state government bears expenses of the education. Admission takes place through lottery and the fixed quota of chosen applicants is 25%.
Every private school, as a rule, has to accept the fixed number of students (2-5), and there must be no discrimination meted out to them. Treating all children equally is the basic right and schools must abide by the same.
