Authorities to work on beautification of Bada Imambara in Lucknow ahead of G20 meet
Providing the monument with a much-needed makeover, authorities in Lucknow will now work on the reconstruction and beautification of the Bada Imambara. Reportedly, the centuries old monument is set to receive a revamp ahead of the G20 meet which is scheduled to be held in the city next month.
The restoration project will involve cleaning, leveling, polishing the stone and painting within the premises. Furthermore, landscaping of lawns, beautification of the garden by planting flower-bearing shrubs and decorating the monument with facade lighting will also be done.
Makeover of Bada Imambara will be completed within 15 days
Instructions for the renovation and beautification of the Bada Imambara were recently passed by Lucknow divisional commissioner Dr. Roshan Jacob following the inspection of the monument. Officials of the district administration, LMC and LDA have now been directed to complete the makeover work within 15 days.
Reportedly, the Architectural Survey of India (ASI) will work on the polishing work of the mosque while the Husainabad Trust, the caretaking body of the monument will be in charge of the painting of the complex. After this, LDA will work on the facade lighting of the monument.
With this, the route from Imambara to Hazratganj, Taj Hotel, Bandha Road to Shaheed Path will also receive a makeover before the G20 meet and GIS 2023 events scheduled to be held in February.
