Civil Hospital in Lucknow to get 400 new beds, an OPD building, parking facility

With the approval of various developmental projects for Dr. Shyama Pradesh Mukherjee (Civil) Hospital in Lucknow, authorities have now begun to transform this facility into the biggest healthcare set up in the state. Currently, Balrampur Hospital which has around 760 beds, is the largest in the state.

Civil Hospital will get 400 new beds, taking the total capacity of the hospital to 800. Along with this, a new OPD building, a parking lot, speciality centres, will also come up at the premises.

5-storey speciality centre to come up next to Civil Hospital Building 

As per the plan passed by the state cabinet, preparations are underway to develop a five-storey building next to the hospital, on the land received from the Information and Public Relation Department. This structure will have dedicated facilities for Urology, Neurology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology and Cath lab. Additionally, a facility for hemodialysis and a 50-bed ICU unit will also be developed for the critical patients.

New OPD building & parking space to come up soon

As per officials, a new 8 storey OPD building will be constructed in place of the old OPD. Outpatient Department will run on 7 out of 8 floors while one floor will be a dedicated space for the administrative unit.

Meanwhile, the authorities will also construct a 2 storey parking space in order to avoid traffic congestion in the hospital premises and make emergency vehicular movement smooth. Additionally, under the plan, a second parking space will be developed at Suchna Bhavan.
