Dengue menace on the rise: Lucknow reports 37 cases on Wednesday
Despite several control measures headed by Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) and the health department, the city has been reporting a steady number of dengue cases in the past few weeks.
On Wednesday, a total of 37 fresh cases surfaced in Lucknow, out of which Indira Nagar and Chander Nagar areas reported 4 cases each with maximum number of infections in the city.
What are the measures for control of the outbreak?
In the wake of the incessant spike in daily cases, UP's Department of Basic Education also issued guidelines this Monday constituting necessary measures to protect students from communicable diseases. The department further directed all the schools of the state to mandate full-sleeve shirts and trousers for students as a measure amid rising dengue cases.
Furthermore, health department teams surveyed 3,216 houses in different localities of the city and issued notices to eight house owners after finding mosquito larvae on their premises. Other measures including fogging drives and anti-larvae sprinkling are also in progress for the mitigation of the outbreak in the city.
