Fresh COVID infections drop below 1k-mark in Lucknow after a period of 40 days!

Marked by a steep downward turn over the past 2 weeks, the graph of daily COVID cases in Lucknow is showing some optimistic signs. As per the official records, the count of new detections dipped to 916 on Wednesday for the first time in 40 days. Previously, a fresh infection tally below 1,000 was recorded on April 2 and the cases started rising alarmingly thereafter. Further, the city has 17,614 active patients now and more than 17k patients have recovered in the past 5 days.

More than 50k recoveries registered since the start of May

After the second wave of the deadly pandemic led to unsettling repercussions throughout the city, the tallies of the past two weeks hold positive indications for the future. With over 50k recoveries registered in the past 12 days, the active patient count has dipped down significantly and it is anticipated to take a similar path forward.

On Wednesday, 3,148 recoveries were logged while the death toll rose by 23. With the drop in fresh detections, it can be expected that the fatality rate will be controlled further and the stability will be restored in the city. Despite the reduction in active cases, the medical infrastructure is still overwhelmed, having to cater to a large count of patients.
