In Pics | A sneak peek into a world of colourful blooms at Bougainvillea Festival in NBRI Lucknow
The CSIR National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) is now hosting the Pushp Krishi Mela on March 19 and 20. This event is designed to empower farmers and entrepreneurs with the knowledge and resources necessary to elevate their floricultural practices and increase their income through the cultivation of vibrant floral crops.
In addition, the institute is also presenting the Bougainvillea festival for the city folks. Here's a glimpse of the vibrant and sprawling floral extravaganza currently being showcased at the Central Lawn of NBRI on Rana Pratap Marg.
The event is showcasing over 50 captivating varieties of Bougainvillea, including nearly two dozen recently developed types.
Several indigenously developed varieties have been named after influential personalities such as Begum Sikander, Wazid Ali Shah, and APJ Abdul Kalam. While others have been named 'Shubhra', 'Arjuna', 'Archana', 'Mary Palmer Special', 'Los Banos Variegata' and 'Aruna'. In addition, several cultural shows and conferences are also being organized at the event.
Calling all plant enthusiasts! Today is the final day of this spectacular event, so don't miss your chance to witness the breathtaking floral showcase. Admission is free, and visitors are welcome to explore the exhibit between 10 am to 5 pm. Come and experience the beauty and wonder of these colorful blooms before it's too late!
