You can now escape the traffic snarls of Cantt, Shaheed Path and Gomti Nagar in Lucknow while travelling to Ayodhya from Kanpur! Just 18 km from Lucknow, make a right turn at the intersection, bypass Sultanpur Highway, and hop onto Ayodhya Road near BBD. This route links Kanpur to Ayodhya sans the hustle of Lucknow's inner lanes, thanks to the new connectivity of the Outer Ring Road.

Similarly, the Outer Ring Road connected near Bakshi Ka Talab now offers a direct route from Sitapur Road to Ayodhya, Varanasi, or Kanpur! By boarding the Ring Road from BKT, travellers can bypass urban congestion and transition onto Ayodhya Road, bypassing Kursi Road and Deva Road. Even vehicles journeying from Hardoi can sidestep city traffic, enjoying a smoother commute.

Update on Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway

The eagerly anticipated expressway linking Lucknow and Kanpur is slated for completion by July 2025, promising a significant reduction in travel time from the current 1.5 to 3 hours to only 45-50 minutes between the two cities. Progress is well underway, with approximately 50% of the construction already completed. Notably, the 62.7 km long expressway, also known as National Expressway 6 (NE-6), will pass through 41 villages located between Lucknow, Unnao and Kanpur.

Once completed, the 6-lane expressway will connect Azad Chauraha, located near Kanpur's Ganga Bridge, to Shaheed Path in Lucknow. This transformative infrastructure project heralds a new era of connectivity and growth for the region.
