The UP government has decided to raise the maximum age limit for various categories in this year's UP Police examination. This decision entails a three-year relaxation in the maximum age limit for the recruitment process of Constables in the Civil Police, applicable across all categories. This decision was made in response to the amplified requests of the youth for the extension of the age limit.

Prior to this directive, the age limit for males in the general category spanned from 18 to 22 years, while for females, it ranged from 18 to 25 years. Subsequently, a three-year extension to the age limit has been implemented, extending to the OBC, SC, and ST categories. On December 23, a notification was issued for the recruitment of 60,244 Constable positions within the police department. The notification specified that 20 percent of the total positions are reserved for women, in adherence to horizontal reservation guidelines.
