Knocksense Shorts | Lucknow reports 74 new COVID cases; districts in UP witness decline in numbers
The state of Uttar Pradesh has observed a slight reduction in the number of COVID cases. Over the last 24 hours, a total of 369 individuals have tested positive for the virus across all districts. This figure is significantly lower than the number of cases recorded on the preceding Sunday, which was 567. In the state capital, a total of 74 new cases were registered, resulting in the active case count of the city reaching 900.
Among these cases which have been reported in Lucknow, 25 were reported in Turiyaganj, 18 in Chinhat, 8 in Alambagh, 7 in Aliganj, 5 in Sarojini Nagar, and 6 in Red Cross CHC, while the remaining cases were reported in other areas of the city.
Furthermore, the new cases are attributed to Omicrom XBB.1.16 variant of COVID-19, which is comparatively less severe. Thus, most of the infected persons were asymptomatic.
