Spiraling up the cricket craze in Lucknow, Babu Banarasi Das Cricket League-2021 is all set to start in Lucknow on October 17. It is being said that this will be the biggest sports tournament in the city, since the pandemic propelled curbs halted all activities in March last year. As per the available information, around 130 cricket clubs of the city will participate in the famed event and seven of these are gearing up to mark their maiden entries.

Contest being organised after a gap of one year

#Loved by cricket fans throughout the state of Uttar Pradesh, this tournament has provided a stage for many amateurs and budding players from the state. Due to the pandemic, the organisers had cancelled the event last year and now, it is being organised much to the delight of the sports enthusiasts.

Informing about the upcoming event, KL Khan, the secretary of the Cricket Association of Lucknow said that 130 teams have got themselves registered for it. Interestingly, BBD Cricket League will witness first-time performances of 7 teams from the city.

Change-of-club requests to be entertained till October 14

As per the plans, matches will be held across four divisions, including A, B, C and D. Further, the authorities have affirmed that the players registered with the Cricket Association of Lucknow can apply for a change of club till October 14 and such requests will not be entertained thereafter. Notably, the officials had conducted trials for the Under-14 team in the past few days and sports-related activities are gradually being revived in the city.
