As per the upcoming plans, the railway stations will be converted into encroachment-free zones and proper management systems for electric and plastic waste will be introduced. While specific measures are being undertaken to clear the garbage on the tracks, the authorities are also working on plantation drives near the facilities. Notably, reports state that solar panels have been installed at the Lucknow Junction station and LED lights will be introduced soon.
Reportedly, a rainwater harvesting plant with a capacity of 5 lakh litres has been built at the Aishbagh Coaching Depot. With this initiative, nearly 80% of the accumulated water is stored and treated for recycling purposes. It is expected that similar measures will also be executed at the railway stations.
