The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has once again set its sights on revitalizing the Gomti Riverfront, this time with plans to introduce an iconic pedestrian bridge. Inspired by Ahmedabad’s Atal Bridge on the Sabarmati River, this new addition is expected to enhance Lucknow's cultural and recreational landscape.

LDA has already identified the construction site and, in a bid to promote innovative architecture, has launched a national design competition. Open to architects and architectural firms registered with the Council of Architecture (COA), the contest aims to source creative and aesthetically appealing designs for what will be the first-ever pedestrian bridge on the Gomti River.
