Lucknow authorities will now take stringent measures against individuals who leave their vehicles unattended in public parking facilities for a period of 15 days or longer. To enforce this rule, both the LDA and Nagar Nigam officials will conduct regular inspection drives from time to time. They'll monitor and remove all abandoned vehicles from public parking complexes. These vehicles will subsequently be sent to dumping yards for disposal.

Reportedly, the directive to take action against abandoned vehicles in public parking facilities was issued by the Lucknow DM, Suryapal Gangwar following a surprise inspection drive conducted at the Kaiserbagh multilevel parking.

More about DM's directive

Notably, the inspection which was conducted recently revealed the presence of several abandoned vehicles in the facility. Additionally, multiple vehicles were also found unattended in several parts of the city, leading to the implementation of the decision to tackle this issue.

As per the directive, initially, the officials of such vehicles will be notified for removing the vehicles. In case the owners don't respond and the vehicles are not removed within two days, the vehicles will be sent to the dumping yards and fines will also be imposed on the owners.
