Lucknow to host Davis Cup World Group-2 tie between India & Morocco
Lucknow's Vijayant Khand Mini Stadium has been decked up for the World Group-II Davis Cup tie between India and Morocco teams. The doubles match will be played between leading Moroccon players, Elliot Benchetrit and Yassine Dlimi who will compete against Indian duo of Sumit Nagal and Mukund Sasikumar on September 16 and 17.
LMC kicks off a campaign to curb the spread of Dengue in city
Due to the sudden increase in dengue cases in Lucknow, the LMC has initiated a comprehensive campaign to prevent the spread of this mosquito-borne disease. There were 18 reported cases on Sunday and 11 cases yesterday. As part of the campaign, LMC will conduct regular anti-larvae spraying, fogging, and cleaning in various parts of the city.
Electric incinerators will be installed in upper primary and high schools of UP
The Basic Education Department has launched the "Swachhata Pakhwada" campaign to maintain cleanliness in schools. In addition to this, the government plans to install electric incinerators in over 6,000 upper primary schools in Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow. These incinerators will provide a safe and eco-friendly way to dispose of solid waste generated in schools.
UPMRC celebrates 'Metro Diwas' commemorating 6 years of Lucknow Metro
The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) is currently celebrating 'Metro Diwas' to mark 6 years of Lucknow Metro. The event took place on August 8 at Hazratganj Metro Station and featured speeches from UPMRC officials and Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Kailash Satyarthi. Additionally, this week will further be celebrated as 'Safe Travel for Children' with regular activities taking place at the metro station.
PET scan at KGMU thrown open for patients
The PET scan facility in the Radiology department of KGMU Lucknow has been officially opened for patients. It was inaugurated in July this year and had been undergoing a trial period. Now, patients can avail themselves of PET scan services at KGMU for a nominal fee of ₹12,500, which is significantly lower than the charges at private diagnostic centers.
Traffic to be diverted for 6 months on Bani Mohan Road between Lucknow & Unnao
Construction of an overbridge on the Harauni-Jaantipur railway line along the Bani-Mohan route is now underway. As a result, vehicular traffic on this route will be prohibited for a duration of 6 months. During this period, large vehicles will not be able to travel from Kati Bagiya Tiraha to Narayanpur Tiraha in Lucknow District and Lakhpeda Tiraha in Unnao. Instead, they can make a U-turn at Junabganj turn directly from Kati Bagiya Tiraha to reach their destination via Unnao.
