IIM Lucknow extends the CAT application date to Sep 20

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM)Lucknow is the organising institute of the CAT 2023 exam. The online application process for the exam started back on Aug 2 this year and was to continue till yesterday, Sep 13. However the varsity has extended the application deadline and the candidates will now be able to apply till Sep 20. Students can apply for the CAT exam at iimcat.ac.in.

The admit card for the applicants will be made available from Oct 25 onwards while the exam is to conducted on Nov 26.

NSG and UP Police, Mock Drill conducted in Lucknow

The Uttar Pradesh police, in collaboration with the National Security Guard (NSG), held mock drills at Vidhan Sabha and Lok Bhavan on Thursday to boost their readiness for responding to terrorist attacks.

The exercise, known as 'Gandiv-5,' replicated a scenario involving a terrorist attack, including armed assault, to assess the preparedness of UP Police and NSG commandos. This drill took place on September 13 and 14 at various significant locations within the city.

Disability-friendly sports equipment in govt schools in UP

In a groundbreaking move aimed at fostering inclusive development, the recently established UP Special Olympics Committee is set to introduce adaptive sports equipment designed for individuals with disabilities in specific government residential schools throughout Uttar Pradesh. The Social Welfare Department will play a supportive role in facilitating this initiative.

Furthermore, there are intentions to promptly establish a committee office in Lucknow to ensure the efficient operations of the UP Special Olympics Committee.

KGMU in Lucknow to soon offer Lung Transplant facility

King George's Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow has submitted a proposal to the state government seeking approval to establish a lung transplant facility within the university.

Should the proposal be granted approval, KGMU would pioneer the provision of lung transplant services among all the medical institutions of UP. For this, a comprehensive project report has already been forwarded to the government, outlining plans for launching Uttar Pradesh's inaugural lung transplant center.

Luckow police readying security plan ahead of World Cup Matches

The World Cup is set to kick off on October 5, and Lucknow, also referred to as the City of Nawabs, will host its inaugural match at Ekana International Stadium on October 12, featuring Australia and South Africa. Lucknow is also slated to host four additional fixtures, including a match between the Indian team and England.

In preparation for these five matches of the 2023 Cricket World Cup, the local police are diligently laying the groundwork for an efficient security and crowd control strategy. They are meticulously planning the logistics of the international teams' movements to ensure a smooth and secure tournament in the city.

Ministry of Education opens entry for Ek Bharat Sanskriti Sangam contest

The Ministry of Education is now organizing Ek Bharat Sanskriti Sangam Phase 2, an online contest for youngsters between the ages of 18-30. Under this competition, individuals can showcase their talents in multiple categories including Dancing, Singing, Sculpting, Photography, Sketching, and Painting and they can submit their entries online on the website: https://ekbharat.gov.in/EkBharatSanskritiSangam

19 Sep is the last date for the submission of online entries which will also be showcased on the website later for providing exposure to the participants. Furthermore, the winning participants will also be rewarded by the government.
