Lucknow Smart City Ltd. inaugurates composting unit in Parsvnath Planet apartments of Gomti Nagar
Promoting sustainable lifestyle and a greener environment, Lucknow Smart City Ltd. has now taken a new lead. As part of the new move, officials recently inaugurated a wet waste composting unit in the Parsvnath Planet apartment complex of Vibhuti Khand area of Gomti Nagar.
The composting unit will help in treating biodegradable kitchen and household waste, generated by the residents of the multi-storey apartment complex.
An important step towards sustainable waste management
The multi-storey apartment complex stands as a prominent private housing society within the area, comprising of 10 residential towers. Recognizing the importance of sustainable waste management, the apartment authorities have taken decisive actions, including the establishment of a compost pit and wholehearted cooperation with the city's sustainability projects.
LSCL to encourage other residential complexes for establishing compost units
Lucknow Smart City Ltd. has emerged as a pioneer in implementing the pilot project, emphasizing their proactive role in promoting sustainable waste management practices. By spearheading this initiative, they aim to set an example for other complexes that produce more than 100 kg of waste daily, encouraging them to embrace the adoption of in-house composting units.
