Lucknow to soon get a Climate Change Knowledge Centre for tackling environmental woes
In a bid to stregthen the environmental control protocols in the state and to raise climate change awareness, the Environmental Ministry and the UP state government will work on the establishment of a state-level Climate Change Knowledge Centre (CCKC) in Lucknow.
The announcement pertaining to the development of the centre was made recently by the Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change (independent charge), Arun Kumar Saxena, during a state-level workshop. The event was organised in Lucknow with the aim to bridge the gap in the domain of climate action.

The Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India has also given the approval to the state government for setting up the Climate Change Knowledge Centre in UP, under the Strategic Knowledge Mission of the Climate Change Action Plan.
Notably, the state-level Climate Change Knowledge Centre will function from the Gomti Nagar office of the environmental directorate.
Environmental Ministry to develop a climate-based social networking platform
Along with this, the Environmental Ministry will also develop a social networking platform, 'Shelter' for the people of the state as a part of the knowledge network expansion.
The platform will be launched in collaboration with the Tattva foundation. With this, the platform will use advanced grade techniques such as artificial intelligence and machine learning for the exchange of climate-related information in regional languages.
