Female empowerment takes a leap at Lucknow University with a new Women Development Centre!

In an attempt to boost the welfare and progress of females, a new women development centre was launched at Lucknow University today. Reportedly, this facility will motivate girls and young women towards issues of education, health, self-respect and economic independence. As per reports, Prof. Nisha Pandey has been appointed as the director of this centre.

According to reports, the VC affirmed that the females will be apprised about the various government schemes functional for them at this centre. Additionally, they will be inspired to learn about the latest technological developments, ensuring accelerated progress for them. Further, the provisions also entail targetted programs for the empowerment of females from rural backgrounds. Reports state that the officials would try to understand their problems and suggest viable solutions thereafter.

Reportedly, the women development cell will try to spread awareness about social evils that hamper the advancement of females too. With such interventions, women will be supported in their journey through the shackles of societal stereotypes. In addition to this, the varsity will also adopt a village and conduct regular sensitisation workshops there, to propagate the needed information on a range of women-related issues including safety and security.

As per reports, the varsity administration is preparing an extensive database of students, who have lost one or both of their parents to the COVID virus. Reportedly, the convener of the Student Welfare Cell, Professor Poonam Tandon expressed grief over the present situation and stated that an extensive list of probable beneficiaries is being prepared. Currently, the authorities are deliberating over the ways in which, they can help such misfortunate students.
