For the first time ever, Lucknow University has come up with a provision where working professionals can apply for a part-time PhD here, in lieu of a full-time course. The final admission process for the same will be held between August 28 to September 5. As agreed in the Admission Committee meeting, the enrollments will be done by the Departmental Research Committee (DRC), across all academic fields.

Six days of attendance in six months will be mandatory for PhD students

Based on the seats allotted by the admission cell for the PhD courses, the Departmental Research Committee (DRC) will prepare a category-based merit list. Taking into consideration various parameters like research writing, interview, work experience and academic index, this merit would be deciphered and the admission process will commence.

Reportedly, researchers who are interested in part-time PhD have to attend classes only once a week, making the attendance criteria for them extremely convenient. At least, six days of attendance in six months will be mandatory for the PhD students but they would have to pass the 'course work exam'.

The mandatory process to get selected
