Mother-daughter duo's work on Chikankari leaves Shark Tank India 2 judges in awe
It is season 2 of the much loved Shark Tank India and a fleet of unique entrepreneurs have already raised the bar high, leaving the sharks in awe of innovative ideas. Business owners have been creating incredible impressions left right and centre on the show and just one of those to win the investment panel's approval is a mother-daughter duo hailing from New Delhi.
It is the idea that women's contributions often go unnoticed that got attention this time at the show. Shark Tank India 2 participants, Poonam Rawal and Aakriti Rawal's pitch of intricate Chikankari work by 'House of Chikankari' was considered artistic and creative.
House of Chikankari's impressive pitch
The duo, that started their embroidery journey in 2020, has worked with more than 5,000 female employees to make 15,000+ customers happy. Maintaining authenticity, local artisans implement these designs, thus, making the brand a strong hallmark for slow fashion. It also fits well with the modern audience and resonate with 'vocal for local'.
"Building trust took its fair share of time. It was an absolute pleasure to interact with the Sharks and the experience gave us a new perspective and a fresh direction on our journey," the women shared.
'House of Chikankari' was rewarded for culturally sticking to the roots and creating something unique, and was finally offered an investment of ₹75 lakhs in exchange for 3.75% equity.
