New venture by LU: Twinning degree prog to allow students to pursue courses at foreign institutes
Students from University of Lucknow will now get more chances to explore opportunities in foreign lands. As part of the university's ‘twinning degree programme’, students will be able to visit an international university and pursue their courses further.
With increased international exposure and academic growth opportunities, students will be allowed to earn credits from an international institution that LU has a tie-up with. Although a maximum of 30 credits from a foreign institution can be taken into account, this will be counted as a degree by LU.
For the same, Spain's Ramon Llull University has already been roped in while other universities' participation is in the plans.
More about the novel programme
“The twinning degree programme will empower our students to gain international exposure, expand their academic horizons, and develop a global perspective. We are dedicated to ensuring quality education and accessible pathways for all our students,” said Professor Alok Kumar Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Lucknow.
As per officials, the fee structure for the entire programme, including courses at the foreign institution, will be stated clearly during the admission process itself. Exit pathways will also be provided to students unable to complete the programme and they will be guided on how to proceed ahead.
The overall aim is to promote mutual exchange of students and foster a multicultural learning environment. This will also enrich the students' educational experience.
