Bibliophiles, literature savants alike, assemble! The University of Lucknow (LU) is rolling out its vibrant Literature Festival 2024 and it's one that you should not miss! Hosted by Department of English and Modern European Languages, in collab with Tagore Library, this fest revolves around the theme 'Lucknow - Ek Naya Daur' and presents a new outlook towards viewing the city.

March 16-17 will be an extravaganza to remember! Jumpstarting with musical performances, followed by enlightening discussions by eminent panelists Prof Nadeem Hasnain, Mehru Jaffer, Maroof Culmen and Yatindra Mishra, Day 1 of the fest has a sunny side up for the audiences.

Indulge in a literary world: What to expect on Day 1

The day will help spectators explore the cultural history of the city of Nawabs, the flourishing thespian culture in theatre and cinema, the beauty of poetry and music through illuminating conversations.

Moreover, the occasion will also mark the debut directorial and theatrical performance by the English Theatre Group of LU. Solely produced and put up by the university students, the enrapturing play 'Chakravyuh' - a treat for cinephiles - will conclude the day. P.S. The event, all set to dazzle you, will take place between 5-6:30 PM at AP Sen Hall.

 Day 2: Plays, Prose & Poesy

People, Day 2 has all the more discussions, recitals, storytelling and musings in verse stored for you. Graced with the presence of panelists like Padma Shri Vidya Vindu Singh, AP Pandey, Pankaj Prasoon, Dr Rajkumar Saxena, Dr Noor Khan and so many other noteworthy personalities, the affairs are going to be both captivating and insightful!

Expect engaging programmes like Zaika-e-Lucknow revolving around the culinary traditions of the city, "Tarang - Classical Notes, Times Emotions" involving a soothing Santoor recital by Pt Dishari Chakraborty and Tabla performance by Sumit Malik, and Meena Kumari: "Ek Mukhtasar Dastaan" by Harsh Vardhan and Vasundhara Shukla.

The happening day will conclude with an enchanting performance of the play, 'Gudamba'.
