IRCTC launches 2 Delhi-Lucknow special Holi trains

Lucknow and Delhi are two cities that have a great deal of railway traffic between them. Lakhs of people have come to Delhi from Lucknow in order to find work or pursue education. Which means that come festival time these very people travel back home to their families. Yet, during the same time, the rush and traffic makes it impossible to book train tickets making it hard for us to go back home during the festivities.

In order to make sure that people get easy and comfortable means of transportation back home, Indian Railway has launched several Holi special trains which can take you back home and save you from the rush as well.

What's the update?

In order to tackle the holiday rush and provide commuters with enough options to travel back home, Indian Railway has launched 23 special trains; which include 2 trains that run between Lucknow and Delhi. These would run from the Hazrat Nizamuddin and Anand Vihar Terminals to Lucknow.

The train running from Anand Vihar to Lucknow will be an express special train, numbered 04422. The train will begin operations from Anand Vihar station between March 4th to March 11th, only on Wednesdays. While the train running from Hazrat Nizamuddin to Lucknow will also be an express special train with the number 04420. This train will begin operations from Hazrat Nizamuddin from March 2nd till March 9th, only on Mondays.

On its return journey, the train from Lucknow-Anand Vihar will run with the number 04421 and begin operations from Lucknow from March 3rd till March 10th, only on Tuesdays. While the train running between Lucknow-Nizamuddin route, numbered- 04419 will begin its operations from Lucknow between March 5th to March 12th, only on Thursdays.

Apart from this another Holi special train has also been launched between the Nangal Dam (in Punjab) and Lucknow.
