Two new flyovers to come up in the Gomti Nagar area of Lucknow
In a bid to curb traffic snarls and to provide seamless connectivity on the prominent routes within Gomti Nagar, the UP government will now work on the construction of two new flyovers.
Reportedly, one of the flyovers will come up between the Samta Mulak crossing and the 1090 intersection, while the other one will be raised from the Lohia Hospital and will provide direct access to the Shaheed Path.
More about the proposed flyovers
Notably, the 1090 crossing is one of the most prominent intersections of Lucknow. The crossing not only connects multiple important routes of the city but is also a popular hangout spot for the city folks because of the nearby attractions. Due to this, the area often remains affected by heavy traffic load during peak hours.
For this, the authorities have now proposed a plan for the construction of a new flyover which will help in reducing the traffic load. On the other hand, the second flyover will provide seamless connectivity from the Lohia Hospital to the Shaheed Path and will help in reducing the traffic snarls near the IGP area.
What is the current progress?
For now, the Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation Limited (UPSBCL) has prepared the preliminary design for both flyovers. Furthermore, the authorities will now work alongside experts to examine the feasibility and the adaptability of the proposed structure according to future use.
The authority will further approach the UP Public Works Department (PWD) for further proceedings after completing the evaluation successfully.
