The UP government, in its budget session in the first week of February, unveiled plans for an extensive infrastructure overhaul in Lucknow, including the ambitious construction of a 1500-acre Aerocity for the state capital. Currently, efforts are underway to identify suitable land in Rahimabad and Gahru Villages, near the CCS Airport, marking a significant step forward in the development process.

Lucknow's Aerocity project to include upscale amenities for corporate leaders

Situated close to the airports, luxury 'Aerocities' in major Indian cities like Delhi and Hyderabad, offer convenient access to travellers, businessmen, and entrepreneurs.

Following suit, the Lucknow Aerocity project aims to provide a similar high-end experience, boasting top-tier amenities including ultra-premium hotels, restaurants, a state-of-the-art convention center, upscale shopping malls, and picturesque parks.

To share direct connectivity with major road projects, expressways

Notably, the Lucknow Aerocity will also share direct connectivity to key infrastructure projects like the upcoming Lucknow-Kanpur expressway and Kanpur's outer ring road, ensuring seamless statewide access.

With these amenities and seamless access to transportation networks across the state, the Aerocity project is anticipated to attract investors and corporate leaders, positioning itself as a prime destination for conducting business in the region.

Apart than this, another Aerocity of 172 acres has also been proposed, which will be set up near Noida's Jewar Airport.

Plan for the development of Aerocity currently in preliminary stages

Despite the announcement made by the UP finance minister during the budget session, the ambitious Aerocity project is still in its preliminary stages. While it has received initial approval from the state, further proposals will need to be considered by the cabinet, which may be delayed due to ongoing elections and related procedures.

Although Lucknow, as the state capital, is deemed suitable for the development of an Aerocity, similar to other ambitious plans such as the AI City and IT city, the realization of this project may be viewed as a distant prospect at this stage.
