UP tourism: Naimisharanya Dham near Lucknow to undergo a facelift soon
In an attempt to boost tourism in the state, the UP government is all set to redevelop Naimisharanya Dham. About 80 km from Lucknow, this famous location lies in the Sitapur district of UP and will get a facelift in line with the Master Plan prepared by the College of Architecture( affiliated with AKTU).
After the completion of this redevelopment project, the Naimisharanya Dham will make for a great weekend getaway destination from Lucknow!
New meditation centre to come up near the Dham
Under the ambit of this development project, the entire area will undergo a systematic upgrade including setting up a riverfront, expansion of Ganga Ghat and improving road connectivity.
This includes development of the 5 Kosi Yaatra Marg, 14 Kosi Yaatra Marg and 84 Kosi Yaatra Marg. Moreover, a new meditation centre will also be set up at the Dham, soon.
Work to begin soon!
Every year, more than 1.5 lakh pilgrims visit this holy shrine. To ensure proper accommodation arrangements for these visitors, the administration has allowed governments of other states to build monasteries or guest houses near the Dham.
According to Mukesh Meshram, the Principal Secretary of the Tourism Department, a Detailed Project Report of the same will soon be prepared and sent to the government for approval. The work will begin as soon the administration gives the final nod to this redevelopment project.
Dham's traditional look to be retained
As per the Master Plan, this Dham will be beautified with sandstone and yellow stones to retain its traditional look. Keeping in mind the expected rise in the footfall in future, this Master Plan has been prepared in view of the next 50 years.
In addition to this, the administration will carry out a complete redevelopment of the entire area surrounding the Naimisharanya Dham to ensure a smooth journey for these pilgrims.
