UP Tourism’s budget hotels 'Rahi' to get a makeover
Tourism in Uttar Pradesh is back on track and has been flourishing ever since the COVID-19 lockdown ended. To encourage a new wave of tourism in the state, the UP government has decided to refurbish one of its oldest accommodation bungalows, their budget hotels 'Rahi', in over 30 districts.
Uttar Pradesh Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh recently announced that the advertisements for the renovation of the budget hotels in 30 districts are out already. The renovation will be done under the public-private partnership or the PPP model.
The new and better accommodation at Rahi Hotels
The budget hotels 'Rahi' were constructed with the idea of providing tourists with a home-like shelter, food, and beautiful locations. After years, the renovation of the bungalow will improve the stay quality.
As per updates, site surveys have been conducted so far in Barsana, Bateshwar, Radha Kund, Shikohabad, Gokul Gaon, Mathura, and Neemsar. Parties have already issued a tender, and the bidding process has begun.
More tourism spots to be created
According to the UP Tourism Minister, the development committee is set up in almost every district in the state, which will be headed by the DM and the local MLAs, MPs, and MLC as its members. The main aim of having these committees is to implement the programs from the Central and State governments on the tourism spots in the respective districts.
The officials have formulated a five-year plan to encourage and enhance tourism in Uttar Pradesh. Moreover, the department has gained access to the INS Gomti and has decided to develop it as a museum in Lucknow. In Allahabad, it has been selected to transform the Curzon Bridge into a Ganga Gallery after getting permission from the Indian Railways.
As per reports, the government has released separate project information, site images, and an estimated cost for each of the seven properties mentioned above. Check out more details on the official website.
