Uttar Pradesh becomes first state in India to fully vaccinate 16 cr people
Uttar Pradesh has successfully vaccinated over 16 crore people. It is the first state in India to achieve this milestone.
In nearly just 20 days since crossing the 15 crore mark, the Uttar Pradesh government has added yet another star up its sleeve. 16,02,66,806 people have been fully vaccinated with both the doses of COVID-19 in UP.
Aggressive vaccination is an integral part of the comprehensive strategy of the Uttar Pradesh government bodies. It has so far given over 33.92 crore doses to people. It has also achieved the landmark of administering the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine to 100 per cent of the eligible adult population.
Current Vaccination Stats of Uttar Pradesh
Authorities in Uttar Pradesh had started dispensing booster shots (precaution dose/third dose) from January 10, 2022. Nearly 35.22 lakh precaution doses have been administered in the state so far.
The government is providing vaccination cover to all children between 12 to 17 years of age in a time-bound manner. So far, over 2,60,80,643 vaccine doses have been administered to children in the age group of 15-17 and over 1,37,51,108 vaccine doses have been administered to the children in the age group of 12-14 in the state.
According to the latest figures on CoWin, Uttar Pradesh has administered 17.54 crore first doses of the vaccine so far.
The war is still not over
The Uttar Pradesh government has achieved major landmarks whilst being the most populated state in the country. It continues to conduct one of the most successful vaccination campaigns so far in India.
However, this does not change the current rise of COVID-19. It is compulsory for all citizens to adhere to COVID-19 appropriate behavior and refrain from entering public gatherings.
