We recently dined at 39-YO Spicy Bite in Lucknow and here’s why you should too!

First launched in 1985 as a Chinese only restaurant in the city, and now, in its most recent avatar as a hep pizza place—this establishment is one of the most iconic restaurants in Lucknow. Yes, we’re talking about Spicy Bite, a part of the holy trinity of restaurants in Hazratganj. Located inside Tulsi Complex, you won’t see any signage pointing towards the place. But it's pretty famous so anyone can guide you to it.

Let's start from the beginning! The now 39-year-old iconic location makes quite the case for itself with green wall frontage, warm, wooden furnishing, and a rustic-yet-elegant feel—all served alongside a multi-cuisine menu. Call it a modern classic, if you will.

In a conversation with Knocksense, owner Saahiba Tulsi shared, “Spicy Bite has now become a repository of emotions- from indulging in delightful flavours to unleashing your creativity- one can have a wholesome experience here. You eat delicious food, tap in to your creative side and leave with a happy heart.” And we couldn’t agree more!

Talking about the food, it’s a haven for Chinese and pizza lovers. This restaurant brilliantly adds a modern twist to traditional dishes, taking you on a culinary adventure like never before. From essentials to the most unique dishes, they serve the best of all. 

Their Chinese specials like Paneer Thread Roll (₹300), Crispy Chilli Chicken (₹420), Kung Pao Paneer (₹350), Burnt Garlic Chilli Fish (₹520), and Schezwan Fried Rice (₹320) feels like heaven in every bite. Easy on the wallet, Spicy Bite has also introduced pocket-friendly Chinese Meal Boxes (₹280) for those month end days (we feel you, brother!). However, if you’re in mood for some herb-spiced pizza, here are two of our favourites — Chilli Paneer Pizza (₹320) and BBQ Chicken Pizza (₹380).
