After three years of no-show due to COVID, Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival organised by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) is back with a recap segment from October 27 to November 5. The stellar line-up for 2023 has over 250 films spread over 10 days. This time, the Festival will also be revisiting Indian independent films from 2020 to 2022 which could not be screened earlier. This selection forms a vital part of the festival's special segment, ‘Road To The Oscars’, where they spotlight these cinematic gems.

Among the carefully picked-out movies, you’ll encounter a diverse array of narratives and storytelling styles. For instance, the emotionally charged journey of a mother depicted in ‘The Burdened‘ to the unwavering commitment and spiritual exploration of a monk in ‘The Monk And The Gun’, will be exhibited for cinephiles.

As part of the gala, prominent personalities from the film industries such as Mani Ratnam and Luca Guadagnino will be endowed with the Excellence in Cinema Award for their long-lasting contribution. Among the 11 award categories, some are IMDb Audience Choice Award, NETPAC Award, The Best Book on Cinema Award, Rashid Irani Best Young Critic Award, Film Critics Guild Gender Sensitivity Award and Lifetime Achievement Award.

These remarkable films have been carefully selected not only for their artistic excellence but also for their potential to leave a profound and lasting impact on audiences. If you wish to be a part of the Festival checkout the schedule here and book your tickets ASAP!
