In response to a surge in complaints about turbid water, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday advised residents to filter and boil water before use as a precautionary measure.

Since October 21, BMC has received several complaints of turbid water supply, particularly from eastern suburbs and the city island. This issue has arisen following heavy rainfall in the catchment area of the Bhatsa reservoir over the past few days, leading to increased turbidity in the river channels.

Meanwhile, BMC's Hydraulic Engineering Department is actively addressing the situation to ensure stable and safe water supply.
